Education Programmes
CERN offers a unique environment for learning: an international community where cutting-edge science, technology and collaboration come together. CERN’s education programmes allow science teachers and school students to engage with CERN through a rich portfolio of initiatives, ranging from teacher professional development and student competitions to online courses and educational resources.
These initiatives, developed by the Education section of CERN’s Education, Communication & Outreach group, reflect the Laboratory’s long-standing commitment to education recognised in the CERN Convention and are continually supported and improved through physics education research.

For University students
CERN offers university students a range of hands-on opportunities in physics, engineering, computing and beyond. You can join through summer placements, internship programmes or by doing your PhD while working on real research projects. These programmes combine practical experience, mentoring and exposure to a unique international environment. For professionals further on in their careers, CERN organises highly regarded schools in particle physics, computing, and accelerators.
